Thanks to Andy Smith and the Bass Team for hosting the end of season championship. It was a great weekend with some excellent competitive sailing. Also a BIG thank you to the Championship Committee who continue to do sterling work. Finally well done to Andy and Chris getting the dancing started. 🙂

It was great seeing competitive racing from the ‘vintage and cruising’ guys. So glad you enjoyed the weekend. 🙂

Seconded; a superb weekend, with some excellent sailing, in a glorious part of the country, and a marvellous welcome for the Vintage fleet.

Well, Series 1s, yes; not many (like yours) going back as far as 1950/51, though, with sail numbers in just two digits, and as historically authentic as possible!

Seconded!
Great weekend, great club and family enjoyed, despite no intention of sailing, thanks to the hosts. Plenty of grounds and other kids for the kids to play, internet access (always handy when your away for a few days), food, tea, etc
As for the sailing, i’m still wearing the grin, second place for the boat first season since 3 years of hard restoration, feel rewarded! just thrilled to bits with the boat and how she went and with the result! In such company, dumbstruck didnt know what to say really.
Except maybe thanks to all above and especially well sailed by my helm, Oliver, hard work that 2nd race on Sunday, unpredictable conditions for us sea sailors, did a fine job! Took a good amount of skill with old worn out sails, a rudder up at 45`, no kicker, a lose (small) jib, in fact little tension in the rig. Just brilliant sail! In fact to the first mark we where right in with the main fleet. Too close at one point!
This was the second family GP weekend for us this year and both have been fantastic, I would very much recommend anyone with an older boat to join in. There must be hundreds if not thousands of clubs Series1’s just like mine used for family sailing, holidays, club racing. Cant understand why we are not fighting them off!
