Hi I am new to this site and don’t usually do Forumy things but I need a little help as I can’t seem to find the “Technical Section” anywhere.

I’m sure it will be something simple but can someone please suggest how or rather where I may be able to find it.

I am currently restoring a couple of early boats and want to understand the rigging options available.

      Regards

      Nick.

      Hi Nick.

Try the members’ library under the members’ section.  It only appears when you’re logged in but I’m assuming you have a log in ID by dint of the fact that you’ve managed to post on the forum.

Can’t say for certain if there’s an article relating to the subject you require, but that’s where all that sort of info is now.

      Dale.

      Thanks Dale,

It seems there was an access problem that has now been sorted out thanks to Hugh Brazier.

Apparently my user I.D. caused some issue though I’m not sure why it’s only the combined names of my two GP’s.

      Regards Nick.

You may also find this photographic record useful;  most of the various different ways in which the boat has been rigged over the years,  up to but not including the latest race rigs.

      Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the information I have tried the wood dust trick before though it always seems to go very dark in colour.

I’m going to Beale Park boat show this weekend so will see what’s on offer there.

Could you check to see if there is a problem with the link you gave re rigging alternatives as every time I try I get a page not found message.

      Regards

I agree that wood dust does go very dark in colour.  Microgranules tend to be very white,  so perhaps a mixture of the two.   I confess I have not tried colloidal silica.

There does indeed seem to be a problem with the link,  although I have not debugged quite why.   <span style=”line-height: 1.5em;”>I suggest that you try  </span>http://gp14building.wordpress.com,  then click on Photos,  then <span style=”font-size: 9.5pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: Georgia, serif; color: #743399; border: 1pt none windowtext; padding: 0cm; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-size: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial;”>GP14 Rigging Systems</span>

This is our archive site (“we” in this context being the GP14 Owners Online Community),  and I am not sure whether it is open to non-members of that forum,  but try it and see.  If you can’t get in,  get back to me off-list at acapella13934(no spam)@talktalk.net (omit the “(no spam)” of course) and we can sort something out for you.

      Oliver
