Bassenthwaite Sailing Club will be open for camping and launching and we shall have full use of all the clubhouse facilities, including their excellent kitchen to prepare your own food. The event is to be very informal but the outline of the weekend is this:

Saturday: arrive, unpack, rig the boat and the tent then take a leisurely cruise on the lake.

Sunday: cruise down the lake, moor up on the East shore and walk up to the tea room in the forest. Later in the afternoon de-rig and drop the boats down to Nichol End Marine on Derwent Water, then find a suitable eating place in Keswick.

Monday: Return to Derwent Water to explore its islands, inlets and tea rooms.

The cost will be £7 per tent per night plus £10 at Bassenthwaite per day to launch. A modest launch fee will also be payable at Derwent Water.

Steve Parry will be taking the Old Yellow Boat and at least two other classics are being dusted off, if you think you might like to join them please drop an email either to Steve  or Ed Washington. slparry@gmail.com or ed@no9.co.uk
