The weather’s been great, there have been some great sailing events so far this year in the International GP14 Class, and the Championship Committee have some great events lined up for the rest of the season, BUT we have to mention the GDPR, because today, 25th May 2018 is the day that the General Data Protection Regulations become the law. In the GP14 Class Association, we do hold some of your data , predominantly so that we can tell you about the events that we organise and to send you copies of our class magazine, Mainsail and the e-Newsletter. Of course we need to do this to keep you abreast of what’s happening in our vibrant class association.

We never use your data to send unsolicited mail nor do we share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

As a volunteer organisation, we are adopting a pragmatic approach to GDPR, in that we assume that it’s OK to hold your data to do these things unless you tell us differently.

GDPR imposes additional obligations on organisations and gives you extra rights around how your data is used. As part of our ongoing commitment to handling your data with transparency and integrity we’ve updated our Privacy Policy to show you the information we collect and how we use it to stay in contact. Our new Privacy Policy also gives you more information about what we do with the data that we hold for you, who we share your data with and your new rights under GDPR. We have also updated and explained our “cookie policy”.
To view our new Privacy, GDPR and Cookie Policies please click here.

We will be asking for your consent to use data collected specifically for any Championship Event you enter, but this will be mainly so that we can use photo’s and copy for publicity purposes.

You can also unsubscribe from any or all of our communications any time by contacting us on admin@gp14.org.
